These last few months have been rough - none of us could have predicted at the beginning of 2020 that we would soon be running out of toilet paper, cocooning in our homes for weeks on end, and wearing masks whenever we go out in public. I’ve spent a good deal of time over the last few months thinking about how I can help my fellow fiber enthusiasts cope during this bizarre time and I’ve come to the conclusion that we makers have been training for quarantine for most of our lives. Being forced to stay in our homes gave us an excuse to bust out our special stash of yarn and dust off the knitting needles and crochet hooks so we could finally bring some of our project ideas to life. I won’t say that the quarantine has been easier for us, but at least we’ve had something to keep our hands busy!
With all the fabulous making that’s been going on, I started brainstorming ways I could help you keep those creative juices flowing as we start settling into this new “normal”. Fresh Fibers Finds, my new email/blog series, is designed to provide you with weekly inspiration and share some of the fantastic things I’ve found for fiber artists. I’m going to be sharing some beautiful yarns, awesome patterns, and other amazing products to help keep you inspired and creating. This week we’re exploring all things socks - stay tuned every Monday for your next dose of fiber-y inspiration. If you want to make sure you won’t miss out, sign up for my email list and get your weekly creativity boost delivered directly to your inbox.
